This is a VERY excellent site with long lists of professionally edited "how to" articles and videos from rope splicing to electrical installations and much more. They also have a ton of links to other sites. You will want to 'bookmark' this site. We haven't compared them all, but their prices seem quite reasonable.
Some interesting stuff. No categories or search, but it's interesting.

Bills itself as "A Do-it Yourself Magazine that helps you save money." Lots of excellent 'How to' information on the site.
Probably the BEST knot tying instructional on the Internet.
This site has GPS product Reviews, Tutorials, FAQ's, and Links to Third Party GPS Software and Hardware and much more. You could spend a day or two on this site.
Haven't tried it ourselves but it looks pretty good and it's FREE. (Our favorite word,)
Active Captain - The Interactive Cruising GuideBook
Uses free charts which you can get in the next site listed. This is a cool little site - it's in our boat recipes link also.

Our good friend Captain Joe Richardson owns Dancer, a handsome, well cared for wooden sport fish. Captain Joe has a reputation of knowing where the fish are biting and knowing how to show his guests a good time.
Just discovered this site at the beginning of 2011. We'll be following it. It has interviews with big time cruisers - around the world type cruisers. The kind we all dream of being - but most of us settle for just coastal cruising. So realize your dream vicariously. Pick up some good tips, too.

These are all YouTube - and they're kind of raucus - so if someone's asleep you may want to skip this until later. There are lots of spellings of shanty, chanty, chantey, shantys, shanties, chanteys, chanties. You can't spell it wrong!
